Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will a water loss always result in mold damage?

A: No.  If left untreated a water loss can result in mold growth but if the loss is addressed immediately, TRC can significantly reduce the potential for mold growth.

Q: How much time after a water loss do I have before mold begins to grow?

A: Mold can begin to grow as soon as 48 hours under the right conditions.  If the impacted area was previously contaminated with mold that was left untreated, new mold growth can begin immediately.  This is why it is imperative that the drying process begin immediately after the loss.

Q: Is the dehumidification process really effective?

A: Absolutely; Gym floors previously replaced after a water loss because of severe cupping, can now be dried down completely and in some cases, without need for any further restoration.  This saves significant expenditures on restoration and down time for the school.
